Prasiolite Quartz Point - Singing Crystal - Lightning Quartz - Corinto, Brazil - 334g
DETAIL
NOTE
This is a Prasiolite Lightning Crystal—
a rare example of lightning-affected prasiolite.
This may be the first time I have offered a lightning crystal.
Lightning is often seen as something that damages quartz, and I was never particularly drawn to them.
However, I later came to understand that Amethyst Ice Crystals are also lightning crystals, and that the intense heat shock from lightning can induce color changes in quartz. Since then, I have come to see lightning not merely as a destructive force, but as something that can also transform.
It is even said that the deep indigo blue of Tanzanite is influenced by lightning.
Prasiolite is formed when amethyst is exposed to higher temperatures, turning green.
I have heard that the color transformation in this piece may also have been caused by the heat of lightning.
A faint trace of grape-purple remains, revealing its amethyst origin.
In addition to chain-like traces of direct lightning strikes, the prism faces display three-dimensional, geometric etchings.
These appear to be a form of etch figure, yet they resemble geometric patterns—almost like glyphs holding hidden meaning.
The crystal is also highly transparent, and when touched, it produces a soft, delicate sound—qualifying it as a singing crystal.
Pieces like this are exceptionally rare and not easy to find—making this one all the more remarkable.
It is also slightly curved, making it a valuable example of a bent crystal.
