NOTE
Chrysocolla on Quartz from Peru.
This is a new type of chrysocolla quartz discovered in November 2019 at the Tentadora mine in Peru.
Peru is a source of gem silica, which is chrysocolla permeated with quartz.
Chrysocolla coexists with quartz points.
Both quartz and chrysocolla are in their crystalline form, not eroded like gem silica, making this a very rare mineral where they coexist.
Chrysocolla has low hardness and its raw form is brittle, but perhaps because it is permeated with quartz, there is no brittleness, and it forms a very solid crystal. The coloration is also superb.
This is a wild point cluster where not only chrysocolla but also black tenorite coexist in dense formations.
Due to the influence of this coexistence, it has become smoky quartz, but the blue of the chrysocolla gives it a mysterious, blue-quartz-like point.
Chrysocolla on quartz often coexists with tenorite, giving it a wild appearance.
The novelty of this stone might lie in the integration of masculinity and femininity, which is a theme for the future.
It also feels like an integration of sea (blue) and land (black), and intellect (blue) and wildness (black).
The surface is opaque due to the accumulation of components, but when held up to the light, the inside appears transparent.
You can also see a rainbow from the oil in the coating.
