The Himalayas were formed when the Indian subcontinent collided with the Eurasian continent. Himalayan quartz crystals were born from the intense tectonic activity created by this collision.

Himalayan quartz is known for its remarkable variety of shapes. Crystals from different veins often grow in different forms, which is why such diverse and unique specimens are found in this region.

Major Localities of Himalayan Quartz

The Ganesh Himal region, including nearby areas, is one of the main sources of Himalayan quartz. Important localities include Tipling and Lapa in Nepal, and Manikaran and Manihar in India’s Parvati Valley.
